SpeciesFacts turns official and open scientific records about US wildlife into plain pages: where a species lives, how it is protected, what it eats, how big it gets, when people see it and where.

SpeciesFacts is published by Humblebee. We do not sell anything on these pages, we take no payment to change what a page says, and we are not affiliated with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service, NatureServe or any other agency or organization whose data we use.

To protect animals at risk, we never publish nesting, spawning, denning or wintering sites. For species listed under the Endangered Species Act or ranked imperiled or vulnerable by NatureServe, we show range only by state.
